Christmas and Family....We are all one.

Christmas once again...
The time when all either go to grab a tree of the best fitting size to their living room, or drag the “boxed one” out of the attic. A time when people are scurrying about trying to beat the rush to get up the outside decor, the inside decor....traversing all over town to get that perfect “thing” for that perfect person.
The purchasing of the Christmas bird reminds me of A Christmas Carol. And the story behind it. Many of us working overtime to afford the grand meal of the day, the last minute goodie, but is this what it is all about?? Is this what people have become? Like the light contest in the neighborhood of the Whos in Whoville in the movie “How the Grinch stole Christmas” LOL
I would hope not.
Christmas is about Family
And this is not a rash statement. People today view Christmas as a time for giving “presents” to their family and friends. It has become a commercialized season for sales in the stores and thinking of buying buying, buying....But this buying for our family....gifts much more precious than store bought anything are available for the giving.....they are called the gifts of love, compassion, kindness, and should be given all year long.....And who is our family anyhow?
The Book of Ephesians showed me some interesting points of which I have tried to speak before...
Eph 3:9 And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Eph 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly [places] might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
Eph 3:11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
Eph 3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
Eph 3:13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
Eph 3:14 ¶ For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Eph 3:15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
By these scriptures we are ALL family. All of us. And our love for all people should abound in our daily lives whether it is Christmas or not.
Somehow, the Christmas “season” puts more giving into our hearts as we drop coins or if we are able, a dollar or two in the pails in front of the grocery stores fot the needy. What if those bell ringers were there all year long? Certainly there are needy people all year long, some of them may be living next door to you and you be totally unaware. Noone seems to even know their neighbors anymore. Yet the Bible states, they are our family.
And we all as by reading the above scripture should live in the love of God all year round, not just at one certain time of year. God is love, so we should love all of our fellow man. Maybe this statement in this day and time is a little bit “corny” to some of you, but it is the way we were intended to live. By love. Not meaning here a physical love for all people, but a heart love of goodness to all.
Eph 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
Eph 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
Yet how many of us in this day and time are able to live on the Faith of the Word of Jesus, who is also Love?? He loved us so much He gave His life for us, even to mention this as some do remember He was born as a mere human to suffer through life as we do. When we accept Him into our hearts, we should exhibit the love of God towards all people, whom we know are our family....Not by blood, but by God. Does this make any sense here??
Eph 3:18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
Eph 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
And there is a promise also in these verses of what we will attain. Most people are into attaining things yesterday, but to attain the Kingdom of Heaven is a life long work....and has to be lived in a loving manner towards all.
Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
We all have the capacity inside of us. It was inherent in our nature as we were created for Gods purpose in life. So many do not use this capacity except during what is called the “holiday season” So many live their lives on a daily basis not remembering the love we are to show on a constant basis. So many forget to let go and let God, but when and if we do,
Eph 3:21 Unto him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
During this coming year, I am sure it will become increasingly more difficult as life is changing dramatically on a daily basis. All of us should remember one thing. Jesus is coming again. If He came while you were not showing the love you were meant to show others, what would you say to Him?? Will you be honoring His Name when He returns, or doing the same ole thing you do on a daily basis?? Praise be to God at all times for all things. For everything on earth and in our daily lives. No matter what that life is like. Praise God. And ask Him to guide your direction for the rest of the time we have on this earth.
Live in love towards all, because all people are your family, and all deserve to be treated as the same part of the Family of God which we all will share if only we are able to live in love.
The Love of God.......

I believe Jesus told us that a time will come that one would have to choose between accepting God and Jesus, or, mother and father, brother and sister, aunts and uncles, neighbors and friends.

I guess everyone has their own approach to this holiday. as we get older we find ourselves more distant physically from the people we know and it is harder to get together.
