Supreme Court vs Healthcare Reform Bill Ponderings of an American Citizen
71
The Healthcare Reform Bill
as many will recall, and I do remember distinctly; has caused since it's signing in 2010 many adverse discussions.
It was found to have multiple hidden agendas within it's thousands of pages. It confounded and totally confused many people. I do not think in the history of our government, a more lengthy, twisted and controlling bill has even been attempted to be passed. All the hype surrounding it as to it being a way to help people with healthcare was largely a smokescreen to keep people from finding out we would be relinquishing several (or more than several) of our rights given under the Bill of Rights - set forth to protect each individual.
In fact, the large majority of citizens simply do not want this bill in part or entirety to become law....States have disagreed with it, individuals have railed against it. So now it has reached the stage of Supreme Court decision.....
The Supreme Court
is supposed to be the final ruling. Yet, what happens if the "people" do not agree with it's decision?
To my understanding, if favor is shown toward the bill and it stands as law, ready to go into effect next year, people will be made to buy health insurance. In my estimation, this is totally wrong ... some people in this day and age are unable to afford health insurance. How will the government make anyone perform a feat which they are unable to accomplish.
As I look around the US today, after all the God given disasters of natural kind....tornadoes, dust storms, earthquakes, flooding rains, horrendous snow storms early in the year: the people who have been affected by all of these things have no money to be able to afford food.
Many are standing in bread lines and are without homes. How will these people have money for healthcare???? It seems to me they will not. And since the jobless rate is as high as it is, and I personally see no way this rate will improve over the next year or so what is the government going to do with all the people who simply cannot purchase this insurance??
It will be mandatory if this bill is allowed to become final law. Also, all the rest of the amendments to it will become law as well. I do hope all of you who own guns have found secure places for them as our gun rights will be at stake also. The implications of this bill becoming law are far reaching and it will not be for our good, it will lead to our demise in a way that no one person will comprehend.
And where will they put all the people who do not want or are unable to afford this insurance along with the removal of our rights? The jails are so overcrowded they cannot even keep Linsdsey Lohan in jail for more than a few days. Now this is a crock.
I have heard somewhere before, that the gvt has been busy building underground containment centers. How true this is I am unable to say. But if they do exist, is this where they plan to put all of the millions of people who will not agree to the contents of this bill?? Are we to be socked away in some underground jail and packed in cages the way they breed chickens now for egg laying purposes?? Not a pretty though, but this has occurred to me. I personally do not feel that our freedom defined under the Constitution or the Bill of Rights is going to be adhered to.
The fragile state
of our economy as it stands today as well as the same state of gvt across the globe are showing me that the thought pattern in writing this magnanimous bill was not only to get people to buy insurance, but possibly a way to subsidize the funds of the government. Let's face it--with all the people forced to buy gvt run insurance could the thinking have been to pull us out of our deficit? No, this would not do, it is too high.
So then we have to go back to control
As I also look at all the states who have been destroyed in part from natural disasters and being declared a disaster area----after receiving help from the gvt; are these states now in debt to the gvt for bailing them out? This is a large ball of wax with the gvt taking control and the people losing control
Unfortunately, the events
of the past year have all but made people forget about this bill under consideration. But thoughts need to be turned back toward it before it becomes the bane to our existence.
Those of you who know the words in your Bibles understand what is happening now. Here and all over the world. You only have to watch the weather to understand our time is short. If this bill goes through and becomes man made law, each and every person needs to understand. There is a power more great than the Supreme Court, only we do not rely on it. Most have chosen to rely on man made government. Should we all tap into that power, our world will change. But it is Written that man will continue to follow his own way instead of following the way of God.
He gives us everything we have or do not have. And enough people pray and continue to want the repeal of this horrid bill, that will come to pass also. We do have a choice in every matter on this earth. We need to continue to disagree with the mandates included withing this massive stack of government control.....After all, our government is supposed to be for the people and by the people. The ones in control are few compared to the masses out here. And somehow I think the court will take into concern the will of the people...

We learn to make due with what we have. As I have said, I just hope and pray my family never has to have the care I get.
This all stems back to...MONEY! How much money do the congressmen and senators as well as the "Justices" get from corporation kickbacks? A hell of a lot more than will actually be spent on treatments.
@dagda3772 Thank you for your service! I have two sons in the military and worry what will happen to them if wounded or disabled in service to our country. Unfortunately, I just found out and this pisses me off to no end! How DARE our govt for restricting care for those who put life and limb in harms way, to ignore the fact that without your service they would not have the freedom to rob everyone blind the way they do.
The way the govt treats those wounded in service deserve better care than those clowns do.
My problem is that I think the government has gotten so big as to be unmanageable. The voters cannot keep track of all that is going on, how can they? The government system is such that all sorts of fly by night people try to get government contracts.Im the end where does the money go?
Wealth and geo, thank you for your support. Geo, give my best to your kids. They are the true heroes of the world.
Unfortunately, many don't know how the care at the VA works. For them, I recommend a movie, cause it hits pretty much at home. I never knew this myself until I needed to use the VA. The movie is called "Article 99" It stars Kiever Sutherland. It's sort of a drama comedy, but actual story line hits pretty close to accurate.
Govt has been eroding our rights away since the passing of the "Patriot" Act but nobody seems to care. They are willing to give up rights just to feel secure. That is the real travesty. I would rather have MY rights unencumbered by the idiot politicians than give up ANY of them
WMH - This nation was founded on "making choices." Many people seem destined to have their choices made for them by a Big Brother type federal government. I call them "sheeple" and there is an abundance of them. I'd rather make my own and always seem to do well when I do.

Wealthmadehealthy, what many people don't realize is what will happen if the Government is given control of our health care. I for one am fully aware, for as a disabled Veteran, I'm in the federally ran health care system, and hope and pray my family never has to be. People think it would be great. No medical bills, and if Utopia could exist, and it can't, it would be great.
What people don't realize is this, when the government pays your health bills, they decide what care and treatment you need. Let's look at me for example. My doctor at the VA hospital has told me that he can't send me to orthopedics to have my knee looked at, which I hurt when serving in the Army, because they don't think I'll need surgery. Now they don't think I need it, but not one orthopedic doctor has even looked at it in any way shape or form. Heck, they won't even do MRI on it because they don't think I need it.
Anyone in favor of Government Health Care, I offer this challenge to you. Go to your local VA Hospital and sit in the waiting the room and just listen. Count the number of Soldiers that talk about how great their care is. Then count the number of Soldiers that complain about the care they get. I promise you that you'll hear far more complaining about the care than saying how great it is. In fact, if you find one person who talks about how great the care is, get their name, cause they would be a rare find.
Sure, on paper it may sound great, but remember the paper isn't the one making your decisions. They need to ask themselves this, "why are people in Canada coming to the U.S. for heart surgery?" The are coming because the Government Health Care in Canada has them on such a long waiting list, they would die if they didn't.
For those who refuse to see past paper, remember this. I have told you so. If this bill passes and the Government gets into your health care, I don't want to hear you complaining how crummy your care is. You wanted. If you get it, then let me pass on what my mother used to say to me, "You made your bed, now lay in it."
I'm stuck in Government Health, because to not use it would cause me to loose my disability, but you are not in it. Listen to someone who is there, for once in your life, "You will be sorry."
