Some Interesting Facts about that cup of coffee.......
62Ahh, that first cup of java...
After that first cup, your eyes start to open. Your body starts to "wake up". So you go have another. You start to feel rejuvenated. Some of us are running down the street to Starbucks for that extra
rush to keep us going all day....Eyes wide open, lots of energy........
But, do we realize that with each cup of coffee, the caffeine inside of it will only make us feel worse when it dissimulates in our bodies?? And then that though out the day, some of us seem just to want more and more to supposedly keep ourselves going?? UhOh.....
Did You Know that......
Caffeine is a drug. Plain and simple and an addictive one. It can actually cause headaches, fatigue, irritability, and worst of all depression.
It causes your body to produce more acids in your stomach and also your urine. The lift and energy you think you gain by drinking coffee all day long to seemingly make you more productive or energetic is actually harming you in the long run. Ask yourself if you actually feel good after a days worth of coffee---it also affects your muscles, has psychotropic effects on the brain, it stimulates your respiration and your heart also it acts as a diuretic to cause you to spend more time in the bathroom.
A few cups a day will do ya, and if you cut down on your consumption, you will feel a whole lot better.
Again, your body requires water to help it work at its peak and remain flushed out and clean. Even though water to some of us is unappealing, try substituting a few of those cups of coffee with it, and see how much better you feel. As you lower your consumption, you will feel withdrawal symptoms and possibly become irritable, but this should show you what an addictive drug you have been ingesting
without even a clue.
If you want to better your health and stay alert and productive during the day, try some of these energy boosters instead:
Apple or banana with peanut butter
Yogurt with berries
A hard boiled egg with a slice of whole wheat bread
Cottage cheese with pineapple or peaches
Your body will love you for this!!
And in time, you will find yourself wanting that drug alot less. You see, it will take time to lessen your intake if you are one of those "coffee junkies" And this is all it amounts to when you drink coffee all day long. Face it! You are a coffe junkie....Get rid of the urge and get healthy!!!

I know you are right. I am a coffee addict. I love a cup of Joe. I did quit a couple times and had bad headaches. I guess I'll have to do it again. Maybe Vicodin will help. :)
Thanks for the fine article.
Terrific Hub and I can attest to all of it, including the headaches due to withdrawal. Now I'll obsessionally have a cup of decaf if it is cold but not the full test. Thanks for the info.
Glad I am down to 5 pots a day then.
