Understanding how to stay healthy....

While searching around the net today,

I came across several interesting sites.....always looking for ways to protect during the flu season, I came up with a lot of good information.....

A lot of this stuff is common knowledge, but with our harried daily lives, we forget the most simple things in life....the most basic if all is totally forgotten....

How many hours a day do you sleep??

This is one of the very most basic ways to get sick...Not sleeping enough...I do know that nowadays, it is hard for some of us to sleep with all of the different strange things like job loss, flu, pandemic flu, governmental spending, the healthcare bill....

Yet sleep is one of the ways our bodies regenerates itself to keep itself well....There are many different ideas on how to keep from getting the flu, but I will state here and now....sleep and rest are one of the best ways to avoid getting ill....and sleep deprivation is extremely high on a list of many challenges we are all facing right now...

A lot of us when we are unable to sleep, will just go to the medicine cabinet and grab a sleeping pill- yet are we aware that you are only able to take so many of those before you have to find another way to sleep???    A good suggestion for this would be to drink a cup of chamomile tea, as this is really very relaxing...and sweeten it with a spoon of local honey...I say local, because this will also build up your immunities to allergies in your area.....And getting a good nights rest is really important no matter what your lifestyle is...ya gotta have it...



Disinfect and Protect!

I have read in some places that all you need to do to keep from acquiring this flu is to wash your hands and such.  But did you know that if you keep a bottle of bleach handy and dilute it in a spray bottle to spray everything around you, it will also kill the germs effectively as if you had spent tons of money on lysol wipes....Bleach is a good thing to have around the house...and one of the best disinfectants.   It is getting really hard to find lysol wipes anymore, but I have the old standby hanging around and several bottles of it due to the season....

In fact, I found a site today put up by the Clorox company which is extremely informative on how to stay "disinfected" during the school year and flu season....I will post it here so that it will be an informative link for you all....

Like Mom always said....

Take your vitamins.....this is extremely important...D,E,B's gee, how many of you are named Deb, it should be easy for you...Not all the vitamins which are put out on the market have the proper amounts for keeping our bodies healthy....Sometimes even if we are taking a multivitamin, we still need to suppliment what we are taking....Check your vitamins and make sure you are actaully taking the proper amount....and if not, do something to assure yourself that you are getting the intake of those that you reaquire.....

Wash your hands, brush your teeth, get your rest....drink your juice.....You know, we al kind of think we can live without our Mothers advice, but she gave pretty good stuff out, huh??   And it may be that all these things should be remembered and adhered to during the coming school year by ourselves and not just for our children.....LOL  Maybe we should do as we say and quit doing the silly wrong things to our bodies that we do!!!
